How to Use Beef Soup Bones

There is so much meat that comes from 1500lb beef animals.

So much beyond just the T Bone Steaks (even though we know how good they are too!!)

We're challenging ourselves to learn more about using all of it and hope to share that journey with our Meat CSA customers this winter & beyond.

If you've ever been part of a Vegetable CSA you can compare it to why you can't have only tomatoes all summer and that the diversity of veggies is what makes that experience so awesome and unique

Our beef soup bones can be used to make the most delicious bone broth, and have enough meat on them to make a hearty soup or stew.

Making bone broth is super easy in the crockpot or stove top and really brings such a special richness to a winter soup.

Here's Our Favorite Simple Recipe for Beef Broth

  1. Defrost one packager of Over the Moon Beef Soup Bones in the fridge (takes about 12 hours)
  2. Set oven to 350 and brown both sides of the meat, 15 minutes each side
  3. Put browned meat into the crockpot and add one cup chopped onions, garlic to taste, carrots, and celery
  4. Add 8 cups of water and turn crockpot on low for 12-24 hours
